Muse History

1980 Gulfstar Gulfstar 44 CC

Muse is a beautifully outfitted 1980 Gulfstar 44CC ready for Bahama or Blue Water cruising. Muse has been was lovingly maintained by it’s former owner in the Annapolis area for over 20 years. We purchased her in fall of 2020 and outfitted her for Coastal, Bahama and Blue Water cruising with two adults and two kids. We have worked hard to continue the high level of attention to detail set as a precident by the prior owners. All systems have been tested and debugged on a 6 month island cruise in winter of 2021 (Annapolis to Georgetown to SE Florida) and again now for the winter in the Bahamas in 2022 with our family of four.

She is turn key ready to continue providing joyful adventures as we move to our next phase as a family in the woods somewhere TBD. She will be available for closing in May of 2022 in SE Florida (Vero Beach preferred) after our current Bahama cruise.

Available for Viewing by Appointment (Bahamas through April / Vero Beach Florida mid April)

Muse Story:

Muse spent the over twenty years before we purchased her in 2020 providing weekend sailing for her former owner in the Chesapeake. Based in Annapolis her adventures were up and down the Bay and through the Eastern Shore. The level of care and attention to detail over those years is evident through out. She was sold as the prior owner sought a smaller boat that fit his life stage better. A melancholy feeling came as tears welled up in his eyes on the day we headed out from on the West River on our adventure.

On her shake down voyage for us in October of 2020, we took her down the Chesapeake to Norfolk, through the ICW to Cape Fear, then from there in open water to Amelia Island in Florida. Moving from close coastal cruising in Maryland to the open water she performed beautifully and also revealed areas needing tweaking.

December of 2020 we moved aboard, finished the final prep, and took her south along the Florida coast to Key Biscane, across to Bimini, and down through the Exhumas to Georgetown. The trip back brought us through the Eluthras and a month in the Abacos taking us finally to Vero Beach in May of 2021 which we came to love as a Florida destination.

After the Holidays this year we re-boarded as a family (two kids11 and 13) and will be re-tracing some steps while exploring new adventures along the way. Our final destination for 2022 will be Vero Beach by early May at the latest.

She has brought adventure, joy, challenge, heavy seas, light air, and a bit of motor sailing on the way south. She sails beautifully, handles any weather, looks beautiful and proud at any dock or anchorage, and is ready to continue to provide joy, spirit and inspiration to her next owners.
